Bunded fuel tanks and bunded storage

Liquid storage containers come in many different types. However, to comply with current legislation many have to be bunded, so have a secondary containment area where any spilled liquid from the primary containment tank can be collected so as not to affect the environment.

Bunded fuel tanks

To comply with the Oil Storage Regulations 2001, in certain applications fuel tanks should be bunded, so any liquid spilled from the inner tank can be contained. The bund on a fuel tank is usually around 110% the size of the inner tank so all the spilled contents can be collected.

Single skin fuel tanks

To store domestic heating oil or fuel oil, in some situations a single skinned tank may be appropriate. There are however certain regulations pertaining to where a single skinned tank should sited, so you will need to check the current regulations in relation to your tank site before purchase.

Bunded storage containers

Bunded storage containers are the perfect place to store your IBCs and fuel drums. The containers provide a place to store the liquid vessels and also have a bund, so if any liquid is spilled it will be collected and not affect the surrounding environment.
